Pierre Unik

Unik, Pierre (1909-45). French poet, journalist, and script-writer. A Surrealist between 1925 and 1932, he joined the Communist Party in 1927. He worked with Buñuel on three films, including Terre sans pain. In his lifetime he published one volume of poetry, Le Théâtre des nuits blanches (1931), but in 1972 another collection, Chant d'exil, and an unfinished novel, Le Héros du vide, appeared.
