Plot

Produced by Gospel Films, Pilgrim's Progress is an animated-cartoon version of the 17th century John Bunyan novel. Telescoping the novel's events into 27 minutes, the story concerns a spiritual odyssey. In order to successfully complete the journey between the City of Destruction to the Celestial City, the titular Pilgrim, guided by the angel of the Lord, must make several traumatic side trips. These include visits to Slough of Despond to the Hill of Difficulty. Judging by the number of videotape companies currently offering Pilgrim's Progress, this imaginative effort must have lapsed into Public Domain sometime during the past 20 years. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
