Pilipinas Kong Mahal (English: My Beloved Philippines) is one of the most popular patriotic songs in the Philippines, others being Bayan Ko ("My Country") and Magkaisa ("Unite"). In the Philippines, patriotic songs are often sung by people at political rallies, protests and demonstrations. These are also performed in plays and patriotic song or dance numbers, especially in schools during Araw ng Kasarinlán (Independence Day) celebrations in June and Buwan ng Wikà (Language Month) in August.
This specific song is usually sung during flag retreat.
I love my own my native land
Philippines, my Philippines
To thee I give my heart and hand
Philippines, my Philippines.
the trees that crown thy mountains grand,
the seas that beat upon thy strand
Awake my heart to thy command,
Philippines, my Philippines.
My one and only country
Philippines, my love
My heart and my life
For you I'll freely give.
I willingly fulfill my duty,
To always serve you,
Your freedom I will guard,
Philippines, my love.
