a gene family encoding serine/threonine kinases of unknown function named from proviral integration site MuLV-induced murine T-cell lymphomas. They are highly conserved between human and mouse, and are expressed at high levels in hemopoietic tissues, testes and ovaries, and embryonic stem cells.
