Pioltello is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Milan in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 14 km northeast of Milan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 32,337 and an area of 13.1 km².[1]
The municipality of Pioltello contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Limito, Seggiano, and Rugacesio.
Pioltello borders the following municipalities: Cernusco sul Naviglio, Vimodrone, Segrate, Rodano, Peschiera Borromeo.
Pioltello received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree on November 19, 1999.
