Pioneer (formerly, Pioneer Station) is an unincorporated community in Amador County, California. It is located 5 miles (8.0 km) east-northeast of Pine Grove,[2] at an elevation of 2986 feet (910 m), along State Route 88. The community is in ZIP code 95666 and area code 209. Pioneer was a stage stop for the Pony Express riders, and the old Pioneer Station still stands.
A post office opened in Pioneer in 1957.[2]
Politics
In the state legislature Pioneer is located in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Dave Cox, and in the 10th Assembly District, represented by Democrat Alyson Huber. Federally, Pioneer is located in California's 3rd congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +7[3] and is represented by Republican Dan Lungren.
