In sewing, piping is a type of trim or embellishment consisting of a tube of ornamental fabric around the edge of a garment or textile work, sometimes containing a cord. It may be made from either self-fabric or contrast fabric.
Piping can be used in various different things, a border on cushions and even a trim on clothes, around the neckline and sleeves and around the bottom
