Piscinas is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 40 km southwest of Cagliari and about 15 km southeast of Carbonia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 850 and an area of 14.0 km².[1]
Piscinas borders the following municipalities: Giba, Masainas, Santadi, Teulada, Tratalias, Villaperuccio.
Desert
Piscinas' Desert (Italian: Deserto di Piscinas) is a sandy desert spanning approximately 5 km2. Is considered one of the biggest desert systems in Europe and has nothing to do with the municipality of the same name as it's located 88 km north-west and belongs to the town of Arbus.
