Pithiviers is a commune in the Loiret department in north-central France. It is twinned with Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

Pithiviers is of global historical interest as one of the locally infamous second world war concentration camps where children were separated from their parents while the adults were processed and deported to camps farther away, usually Auschwitz. This was the fate of the novelist Irène Némirovsky.
