Pitkyaranta (Russian: Питкяранта; Karelian: Pitkyrandu; Finnish: Pitkäranta) is a town and the administrative center of Pitkyarantsky District in the Republic of Karelia, Russia, located on the northeastern coast of Lake Ladoga. Population: 11,484 (2010 Census preliminary results);[1] 13,347 (2002 Census);[2] 14,361 (1989 Census).[3] Telephone code is 81433.
The town was founded in the 19th century.
