Place des Arts is a non-profit teaching arts centre located in the Maillardville area of Coquitlam, British Columbia.
Founded in 1972, the centre offers programs in visual arts, music, acting, and dance. Approximately 80 Place des Arts instructors teach courses to more than 1500 students, while a staff of 20 and over 200 volunteers manage the facility, programs, and exhibitions. Over 63,000 members of the public visit the facility every year.[1]
Place des Arts features specialized programs for school students and home learners, and presents concerts and exhibitions for the public. There are 14 music studios, as well as studios are offered for pottery, fibre arts, yoga, ballet, drama, piano, drawing and painting.[2]
Place des Arts offers four faculty concerts throughout the year, as well as numerous recitals and presentations by students on an ongoing basis.[3]
