Plant Ledger

Subsidiary Ledger that consists of supporting accounts to a company's general ledger fixed asset account. The ledger provides the detail of individual assets necessary for proper control, tracking, record keeping, and maintenance. Information concerning a particular asset such as those for acquisitions, additions, replacements, extraordinary repairs, and retirements, is recorded in this account.
