A genus of digenetic trematodes in the family Dicrocoeliidae.

  • P. ariestis — a nonpathogenic fluke found in the intestine of sheep.
  • P. fastosum — occurs in the liver and bile ducts of cats; causes a mild disease characterized by vomiting, diarrhea and jaundice. Cats become infested by eating infected lizards. Called also lizard poisoning.
