Pleurodira are a group of southern-hemisphere turtles which, in order to draw their heads into their shells, must fold their neck to the side, instead of withdrawing it directly under their spine like their relitives the Cryptodira. There are not as many Pleurodira as there are Cryptodira. Pleurida are reptiles and hence are cold-blodded
