Background

Pocket City was the debut album by Art Porter Jr., saxophonist and namesake of "The Art Porter Bill". Porter displayed his being one of the earliest forerunners in "smooth jazz" in this album, also including a mix of bebop and R&B. After Pocket City, Porter went on to produce another album, Lay Your Hands On Me, before his untimely death.
