In Texas Hold'em, when your hole cards are a pair of any rank.
SoundPoker Says: A pocket pair is a strong hand in Texas Hold'em. A high pocket pair,
such as K-K, can be played often because they commonly create the top
pair, the top set or a strong full house. A lower pocket pair, such as
2-2, needs to be played more carefully, as you're really looking at
creating a set or a full house with the community cards. Rarely, a
pocket pair will combine with the community cards to create a four of a
kind. When you do hold a four of a kind, you are most likely hold the
nuts, and should think about how to maximize your winnings.
