Plot

When Jud Simpkins (John P. Lockney) needs a slavey at his inn, he gets an indentured servant, Polly Ann (Bessie Love), from the poor house. A troupe of actors comes through town, and Polly Ann falls for one of its members. Meanwhile, up in Boston, Howard Straightlan (Rowland Lee) is in trouble with his father because of his wild ways. To straighten the boy out, he sends Howard to a small country town to work as a school teacher. This is the same town where Polly Ann lives, and Howard saves her from her unfortunate liaison with the actor. Howard's father discovers that Polly Ann is a niece of his and sends for her. Another niece, however, wants Polly's share of the family fortune and tries to force her into leaving. But the father insists that she return, and since she and Howard have fallen in love, he forgives his son, too. ~ Janiss Garza, Rovi
