Polow da Don (born Polow-Freache Jamal Fincher Jones) is an Atlanta-based music producer who rose to fame in late 2005 and early 2006 through hits singles by artists including Ludacris, Jamie Foxx, Kelly Rowland, Pussycat Dolls, Fergie, and Kelis. He is working on projects with Young Buck, Young Jeezy, Gwen Stefani, Ciara, Mýa, Big P (GTP), Riddy Ran and Kelis again with many others. He has created his own label, Zone 4 Inc., on which he has several artists signed, most prominently southern rapper Rich Boy. It has been confirmed on his MySpace page and in his recent video with Rich Boy that his label is an offshoot of Interscope Records.
Jones attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, but dropped out in his freshman year to pursue his aspirations to be a rapper with the group Jim Crow. Jones was later signed to Sony Records with the group, which released two albums, Crow's Nest and Right Quick, in 1999 and 2001, respectively. Jones began his early career recording at 40 Street Records in Atlanta.
As a Christmas present, Jones surprised his parents with a 2007 Mercedes Benz S550 for his mother and a 2007 Cadillac XLR for his father. [1]
Jones worked with Nicole Scherzinger, the lead singer of Pussycat Dolls, on her solo album.

Controversy
During an interview, with hip-hop website allhiphop.com, Polow da Don was asked about his views on being called the “King of White Girls” and only dating white women. Polow had this to say...
“King of the White Girls.” I ain't self proclaimed but I run with it. [Laughs] There was a stage in my life where I went crazy with dating white women. I have nothing against black women, but they’re raised differently. White women are raised to respect and serve their men. Black women are taught to question [their men]. Black women look at submission as being weak. White women look at submission as being a woman. And anyone who has a problem with this statement is ignorant. Just look at the divine order: it goes God, man, woman, child.
During the same interview, Polow was asked about his views on why so many people in urban music think that attending college or something like that [sic] might challenge their street credibility.” Polow had this to say...
I think it’s dumb. I mean, I’m from where I’m from. My parents strived for me to be better. My brother was super duper street all his life and I had the ability to look at that situation and see what I want for myself and what I don’t want for myself. Like, it’s cool to be hood now. That’s how you know you’ve been bamboozled. N****s livin’ at home when they’re 30. Our parents did not live with their parents when they were 30. That s**t is unheard of. Now you got 25 year-olds still at home, suckin’ on they momma’s t***y. That’s why we got a bunch of b**** a** n****s who have no self-respect. I think it's simple, either white people [are] geniuses or Black people [are] idiots. And don’t get mad at me, just prove me wrong. I’m just the bearer of bad news. I'm not the problem. We are the problem, as whole.
