abbr.: PMN; any white blood cell of the myeloid series that in its mature form has a lobed and variably shaped nucleus and granular cytoplasm; included are basophil leukocyte, eosinophil leukocyte, and neutrophil leukocyte. The term is often used erroneously for neutrophil leukocyte solely.
