After beginning as an intern at CBS while still in college, Harlow worked for CBS MarketWatch and as an assistant producer for CBS Newspath. Leaving CBS after graduation, Harlow was an anchor and reporter for NY1 News' Local Edition. From January to August 2007, while at NY1, Harlow's news beat covered Staten Island and areas west of New York City area and including TV reporting on local politics, the economy and the local cultural life.

In September, 2007, Harlow was hired by Forbes.com Video Network. Career at CNN

Harlow joined CNN in 2008 where she is currently an anchor for CNNMoney.com and is based in New York City. Borrowing on the success of Forbes.com as well as one of its stars, Harlow, CNNMoney produced 30 original video reports a day and played them on its site along with the content it gets from the CNN television network. For this initiative, CNN built a new television studio and hired Harlow and a staff of 11 people. It also brought in stories produced for the site from regular CNN reporters and camera crews. This is the format from which Harlow broadcasts cable-style financial headline reports. Harlow has also appeared on CNN's Larry King show, discussing the effects of the skyrocketing cost of oil.[2]
