Securus Inc., a Cary, North Carolina based company is focused on extending GPS enabled solutions for safety and security market. Its GPS technology platform, GPS as a Service, offers safety and security to college students, young children, pets and patients with special needs.[1]
The company was founded in 2008 as Positioning Animals Worldwide Inc.[2] [3] [4] [5] and launched SpotLight and SpotLite GPS pet locator in collaboration with American Kennel Club Companion Animal Recovery (AKC CAR)[6]. In 2010 the company changed its name to Securus, Inc., to reflect its diversification into new markets. The company's chief executive officer is Chris Newton.[7]
Securus, Inc has recently acquired Zoombak, LLC from TruePosition, Inc.[8] Zoombak, Inc is known for developing GPS based products that help people track their important things, ranging from teenage drivers to employees, pets and automobiles.
