The observation that the level of some physical performances show a slight decrease in the early afternoon. It occurs in some tasks even when no lunch is taken, suggesting that it may be a regular component of circadian rhythms. Some athletes take an afternoon nap to coincide with this dip. and train later in the afternoon when they are able to perform better.
