Postgraduate Medical Journal
History
The Postgraduate Medical Journal was established by the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine in 1925 [1]. The Postgraduate Medical Journal continues to be the official journal of the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine. The PMJ is currently published on behalf of the Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine by the BMJ Publishing Group.
Aims
The Fellowship of Postgraduate Medicine aims for the Postgraduate Medical Journal to support clinical trainees by a focus on core competencies expected of junior doctors and on additional clinical background important for examination candidates; to provide flexible educational and practical resources for teaching; to contribute to the continuing professional development of doctors of all grades and specialties by providing opportunities to publish and to learn from relevant, up-to-date editorials, reviews and original articles and correspondence on clinical matters.
Frequency and circulation
The Postgraduate Medical Journal is published monthly. The Journal has an international circulation in print and electronic media [2]. Articles in the Journal are indexed by all the major referencing institutions.
