Biography

In addition to his duties as bassist/singer for King's X, Doug Pinnick is a member of two side projects, Supershine and Poundhound. The latter is essentially a Pinnick solo band (he handles all the vocal, guitar, bass, and production duties, while Jerry Gaskill of King's X helps out with drums), and has issued a pair of albums thus far on the Metal Blade label: 1998's Massive Grooves From the Electric Church of Psychofunkadelic Grungelism Rock Music and 2001's Pineappleskunk. Poundhound's music is not too far off from that of King's X, except that it's more straightforward compositionally and funk-based. To support his sophomore effort, Pinnick launched his first substantial U.S. solo tour. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide
