Biography

Guitarist Tom Lavin, bassist Jack Lavin and a keyboard player formed Powder Blues Band in 1978, later adding trumpeter Mark Hasselbach, drummer Duris Maxwell and saxophonists Wayne Kozak, Gordie Bertram and David Woodward. The group signed with Capitol, which released Uncut and Powder Blues in 1980. Other albums include Thirsty Ears (1981), Party Line (1982), Red Hot/True Blue (1983), First Decade-Greatest Hits (1990) and Let's Get Loose (1993). ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
