Each year, Prairie "operates under a total building budget of $91,000", and indeed has struggled in recent years to pass bonds or levies at the local level. However, the school is currently "completing its third and final year of a Smaller Learning Community Grant."[1]
Prairie High School offers a variety of career and technical programs: AFJROTC, DECA FBLA, FFA, FCCLA[clarification needed], Computer, Industrial and Auto. In addition to the core academic classes, Prairie offers a variety of classes and programs in art, music, drama, foreign language, sign language,Special Education,and ELL.
