Prakash Amritraj (born October 2, 1983 in California) is a professional tennis player. He turned professional in 2003 after winning the National Championships at the University of Southern California.

Background

Amritaj is the son of Vijay Amritraj, who played at Wimbledon for 17 years and in the Davis Cup for 20 years, and the cousin of Stephen Amritraj, whose father was also a professional player. He also has one brother, Vikram who was born in 1993. He is a non-resident Indian who represents India in tournaments and the Davis Cup. He played tennis for the University of Southern California where he majored in business.

Professional career

As of July 14, 2008, he is ranked 204th in the world.[1]

On July 14, 2008 he played in his first ATP Tour final, losing to Fabrice Santoro from France in straight sets.[2]
