‘Compact trill’: term for a trill of only four notes (or‘half-trill’). Ex.1 shows its notation (a); a common but strictly incorrect reading, appropriate only in fast passages, is shown in (b) and the correct reading in (c). Ex.2 shows another common context of the Pralltriller.
