the reaction together of antigen and antibody near their equivalence point to form a cross-linked precipitate. Quantitative analysis of this interaction gives both the antibody content of an immune serum and an indication of the valency of the antigen. If the reaction occurs in a gel then the reactants form precipitin arcs.
