Provision in Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act according to which companies can be enjoined under Section 203(g) to reinstate or hire employees with back pay, where appropriate, in cases where illegal job discrimination as defined under the law has occurred. The purpose is to “make whole” victims of past discrimination.
