Prem Kumar Dhumal (born 1944) is the current Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. He was sworn in on 30 December 2007.[1] He is also a Bharatiya Janata Party MP in the Lok Sabha from Hamirpur Parliamentary constituency. He was earlier the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh from March 1998 to March 2003. He was elected to Lok Sabha previously in 1989 and 1991. He also served as the leader of opposition in state legislative assembly of Himachal Pradesh before winning the Lok Sabha bypoll in 2007[2]. In the December 2007 elections , his party the Bharatiya Janata Party won the elections to the Vidhan Sabha. As he was the Chief Ministerial Candidate[3], he was chosen as chief minister.
