pressure ridge
(′presh·ər ′rij)
(geology) A seismic feature resulting from transverse pressure and shortening of the land surface. An elongate upward movement of the congealing crust of a lava flow. A ridge of glacier ice.
(oceanography) A ridge or wall of hummocks where one ice floe has been pressed against another.
