Priamel, a minor poetic form, cultivated in the 15th c. and 16th c., in which, after a preparatory cumulative build-up, a comic or witty pointe forms the final line. The word is derived from Latin preambulum (preamble). The chief exponent of Priameln is Hans Rosenplüt.
