Plot

Part of the American dream has been to recapture the lush greenery of an earlier environment. In the days of colonial America and the first settlers, the country's wild state included many dangers, and was not regarded as a positive factor. As the population moved across the country, a large portion of the wilderness was eliminated in order to make room for settlement. Pride of Place: Building the American Dream - Resorts, Paradise Reclaimed examines the attempts to bring back the natural features that were once taken for granted, highlighting instances where the wealthy have built private enclaves. ~ Alice Day, Rovi
