Marketing Dictionary: primary source list

Collection of name and address records created by the list owner rather than purchased or rented from other sources. A primary source list might be derived from telephone directories, motor vehicle registrations, magazine subscriber lists, association memberships, or conference attendees. A primary source list may be made available to other marketers via list rental arrangements.
