Private transport, as opposed to public transport, is transport in one's own vehicle (e.g. car, motorcycle or bicycle), or through self-power (such as walking). Private transport differs from public in that it lacks timetables and fixed itineraries. It also tends to be more convenient to the commuter as it is readily available on demand. Unfortunately, however, due to the high cost of fuel in recent years, private transport tends to be more expensive than its public counterpart.
