Arranger of the exchange of an advertiser's merchandise for free broadcast time or publicity plugs on a radio or television show; also called barter broker. A prize broker is employed by a company specializing in the "bartering" of merchandise for broadcast services, and is frequently called upon by game shows for these services. For example, a prize broker might arrange for a free refrigerator to be given away on a game show, in return for the program host's display and mention of the refrigerator's brand name, features, and benefits.
