Ambiguity that affects some important philosophical notions, such as observation, explanation, or perception, which can either refer to the process or activity of observing, explaining, or perceiving, or can refer to the product of that process. Philosophies that reify perceptions, for example, may be charged with falling victims to the ambiguity.
