Professor Marvel
Professor Marvel is a fictional character from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He was portrayed by Frank Morgan.
The professor appears as lovable but fake fortune teller who, out of concern for Dorothy, tricks her into believing Aunt Em is ill. Dorothy rushes back to the farm but is knocked unconscious, inside the house, by a sudden Kansas twister that has already forced her family into the storm cellar behind the house.
He reappears at the end of the film to make sure that Dorothy is ok.
The character does not appear in the original book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
