The Provo-Orem Metropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties in Utah, anchored by the cities of Provo and Orem. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 376,774 (though a July 1, 2007 estimate placed the population at 493,306).[1]

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 376,774 people, 102,393 households, and 82,730 families residing within the MSA. The racial makeup of the MSA was 92.45% White, 0.29% African American, 0.61% Native American, 1.05% Asian, 0.56% Pacific Islander, 3.20% from other races, and 1.84% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.90% of the population.

The median income for a household in the MSA was $41,986, and the median income for a family was $46,426. Males had a median income of $35,750 versus $22,025 for females. The per capita income for the MSA was $14,174.
