Review

The liner notes imply that this is the final Meteors disc, but, then again, the artwork states that the Meteors won't die, so place your bets (but do so knowing that the U.K. rockabilly revivalist revisionists have had more lives then an alley of cats). If Psycho Down! is meant to be a parting salvo, the band could have done a lot worse. A few tracks, such as the infectious "Do You Wanna Make a Monster (Blow by Blow)" and the baneful "Something Wicked (This Way Comes)," stand out on a solid, if somewhat redundant, disc of fun tunes that fit in nicely with the group's vast legacy without superseding it. ~ Brian O'Neill, Rovi
