Pythalmala (Malayalam: പൈതൽമല) is a hill station in the Kannur district of Kerala in India. Located near Kappimala village, at a height of 1371.6 m above sea level, this is the highest geographic peak in Kannur.[1] It is located 65 km from Kannur. Nestled in the Kerala Karnataka border near to Kodagu forests, it lies in the Western Ghats. The trek start point is Kudianmala and the hill top is 6 km from here. Now there is an all-weather motorable road up to forest boundary near paithalmala. You can enjoy the mountain driving through dense mist during monsoon days. A gov.-owned resort and a privately owned resort are there. There are many seasonal waterfalls in the forests nearby.
