Q-Cells is evolving from solar cells to solar systems. The company produces solar cells made from monocrystalline and polycrystalline silicon. It also makes thin-film solar modules (collections of solar cells) used in solar arrays for residential, commercial, and industrial installations. Through partnerships with companies such as LDK Solar and MEMC Electronic Materials, its Q-Cells International unit builds, operates, and maintains large-scale solar power plants. The power plants are then sold by the partnerships to investors. Q-Cells gets a vast majority of sales from Europe.
