Quack Pack is an animated television series made by The Walt Disney Company. The show debuted in September 1996 as a part of the Disney Afternoon weekday afternoon programming block. Unlike other Disney Afternoon shows, it was aimed at teens over the age of 12 to 18 (and a "failed" attempt at prime time cartoons). It lasted for one season that comprised 39 episodes.

Premise
The show centers on the adventures of Donald Duck and his nephews, Huey, Dewey, and Louie, who are portrayed as teenagers in this series for the first and last time. They speak in conventional voices, versus the "duck"-like voices they possessed in earlier cartoons such as Ducktales and Disney theatrical shorts, and they each have their own distinct personalities (also in contrast to their earlier portrayals). They also participate in typical teenage activities. Daisy Duck is the girlfriend of Donald and is a reporter for a news program called What in the World, with Donald serving as her cameraman. Ludwig Von Drake also appears in this series.
Production
The tone of Quack Pack is comedic and slapstick, a sharp contrast to the earlier, "more serious" DuckTales. While this show also takes place in Duckburg, in contrast to earlier series' it almost exclusively features human characters. Scrooge McDuck, the Money Bin, Launchpad McQuack, Gyro Gearloose, Doofus Drake, Bubba the Caveduck, Mrs. Beakley, Webby, Flintheart Glomgold, the Beagle Boys, Magica DeSpell, Duckworth, and GizmoDuck are completely absent from this series, and no explanation is given for their absence. In fact, in the episode "Snow Place to Hide" it was mentioned that Donald is the only uncle that Huey, Dewey, and Louie have, which means either that Scrooge has died, he was just cut out or they are simply differentiating between an Uncle and a Great-Uncle, which is Scrooge's true relationship to them. This had given the show many negative reviews from Ducktales fans, even with some fans wanting to take the show off the air. The show's working title was Duck Daze, but was changed at the last minute to Quack Pack; traces of the earlier title were still reflected in the theme song, which is performed by Eddie Money.
After Quack Pack left the Disney Afternoon, it eventually resurfaced in reruns on the Disney Channel, and later on Toon Disney, but was removed from the channel's line up, along with several other classic Disney shows, in November 2004. In March 2008, Quack Pack returned to the Disney Channel line up airing repeats. [1], however it has since been removed from the channel.
Criticism
Even through this show was supposed to air at least 65 episodes (and was expected to air even more) and move out of The Disney Afternoon once it ceased broadcasting, the show ended up the other way and was canceled after only 39 episodes, mostly due to its nature. Many critics thought it lacked any plot and was poorly put together. And while Quack Pack was based on the comics and Ducktales, many people complained there were too many differences. In the comics and Ducktales there were no humans but in Quack Pack, most of Duckburg's population was human. And some people complained that Huey, Dewey, and Louie were becoming more like the kids in most prime time shows. Even though HDL were returned to their former age, most of the Quack Pack personalities survive, which led to the ducks being retired for the most part.
