R.E.A. Holdings maintains oil palm operations -- the cultivation of oil palms and the production of crude palm oil -- in the province of East Kalimantan in Indonesia. The company owns about 65,000 hectares of land, and has access to 125,000 hectares, of which about 35,000 hectares (about 33,000 acres) are in production at any given time. The company's two mills produce all of its crude palm oil and palm kernels and its fleet of barges transport the oil to a shipping terminal downstream. REA's facilities also include residential "villages" for field and plant workers. The majority of the company's sales are in Indonesian and other parts of Asia.
