Radiation Therapy Services (RTSI) operates some 120 radiation treatment centers, including seven that involve hospital-based treatment centers and other groups. RTSI operates more than 90 centers in the US, 25 in Latin America, and one in India. Operating primarily as 21st Century Oncology, the company provides a wide variety of radiation therapy services, including image-guided radiation therapy, tomotherapy for treatment directly into affected areas, seed implantation for prostate cancer, and stereotactic radiosurgery for treating brain tumors. Its centers also participate in clinical research trials for cancer treatment. RTSI was acquired by private investment firm Vestar Capital in 2008.
