Veteran Bengali filmmaker P.C. Barua directs with wacky comedy about intra-family intrigue. Dull-witted innocent Rajat (Barua) is in love with his beautiful neighbor Jayanti (Menaka Devi). His streetwise cousin, Bishwanath (Pahadi Sanyal), along with Bishwanath's associate, Samir (Bhanu Bannerjee), try to coach him on the mysterious ways of women. At the same time, the two try to get Rajat's elderly and tightfisted guardian Bagalcharan (Sailen Choudhury) to cough up some money so they can make a European-style art film. Bagalcharan, however, is victimized by a pair of seasoned criminals -- Natoraj (Indu Mukherjee) and Supta (Molina Devi). They try to convince Rajat to kidnap his guardian and deliver her to them. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide
