Ramco-Gershenson Properties Trust makes no bones about horning in on the retail world. A self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT), it owns, develops, and manages a property portfolio of about 90 shopping centers in about a dozen states east of the Mississippi River. The REIT's properties contain approximately 20 million sq. ft. of leasable space in the Midwest, mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. Nearly all of its assets are community shopping centers in metropolitan areas, anchored by grocery or big-box stores. The REIT also owns one enclosed regional mall and one single-tenant property, and has a handful of projects under development.
