Review

Rarities is a handy collection of odds and ends that devoted fans of Kinky surely will want to explore. There's a little bit of everything here: soundtrack inclusions ("Oye Como Va," "Canibal," "Aqui Es la Vida"), live recordings ("Mas," "The Headphonist," "Sol"), remixes (of "Presidente," "Soun Tha Mi Primer Amor," "Mas," "Oye Como Va"), an Intocable tribute album inclusion ("Coqueta"), and a few genuine rarities ("Selva Lombardi," "Five Rooms," "El Pato"). Anyone who isn't already a devoted fan should check out the full-length Kinky albums first. There's some good music here, but not nearly enough to rival any of the band's albums, especially not their exciting debut, Kinky (2002), and some of these rarities are curiosities at best. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
