Buddhism Dictionary: Ratnākaraśānti

(11-12th c.)

Also known as Śānti, a philosopher in the pramāṇa-vāda tradition of logic and epistemology who attempted to systematize various strands of Madhyamaka and late medieval Indian Buddhist thought. He was a pupil of Ratnakīrti and wrote commentaries on the Prajñā-pāramitā Sūtras in 8,000 and 25,000 lines, as well as on the Hevajra Tantra, and on the works of Śāntarakṣita.
